Friday, 9th October, 2009, El Café hosted the first SIT Open Mic of the season, with singing, playing and reciting presentations from students all over the world.
The night started with an inspirational song presented by students form Africa, that dedicated their song to Obama, that had just won the Nobel Peace Prize that day.
Following, we heard songs from Indonesia, Blues from USA, drums and banjo rhythms, poems on Environmentalism and Gender Equality...
A full night, that shall repeat itself every month, at El Café. Stay tuned for the next event.
Ode to El Cafe
ReplyDeleteHere I be sipping on tea,
Bumping Reggae in El Cafe.
Coffee, Sugar, Tea for Me!
A place of respite and group study amongst the madness.
High-speed train, not takin a break until December.
Life flows, the mind in hyperdrive,
Makes me glad to be alive.
Keep up the good work and don't forget to
Have a cup of joe, before you go!
